Bali kites are an important element of Balinese life through the generations, these beautiful kites serve as a focal point of social activity and good-natured competition. From the fast and nimble racing and fighting kites to the low humming giantkites, rated for the beauty of their “voice, diversity and enthusiasm permeate the islands wide love of this high flying artwork. Bali’s traditional yearly Kite Festival has become an international destination, and during the months of July to September crowds of young boys, hoisting oversized kites, often stop traffic. Similar to Bali’s iconic Ogoh-Ogoh (the dramatic figures paraded during the Balinese New Year) our kites are hand crafted, often using bits and pieces of recycled materials. In outreach to neighboring villages, the Bali workshop has now trained and employs
over 60 artisans. Each kite is truly a unique and inspirational work of art, suitable for mounting on the wall as a piece of art or flying high.
